Question

How do you configure your IBM®  Rational®  DOORS®  client machine to use a different license server for obtaining a license?

Answer

To point to a different license server you will need to change the license environment variable
named TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE

Steps to modify the license setting:

  1. Click Start
     
  2. Right-click on My Computer
     
  3. Click Properties In the pop up window
     
  4. Select the Advanced tab in the System Properties Window
     
  5. Click Environment Variables
     
  6. Scroll to the entry: TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE in the list of System variables
     
  7. Double click the variable to edit the value
     
  8. Click OK when the value changes are completed to close the variable editor window
     
  9. Click OK to close the Environment Variables window
     
  10. Click OK to close the System Properties window
 

The license variable can point to multiple license servers; just separate the entries using semicolons.

Example: TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE=19353@license_server1;19353@license_server2

In case of a redundant license server configuration, the license server entries are separated by a comma.

Example: TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE=27000@primary_server,27000@secondary_server,27000@tertiary_server
