How to setup the Network for VxWorks?
Answer
Here are the steps to setup the network for VxWorks:
Step1. Install the Network Daemon as auto service.
a. Open VxWorks Development Shell
b. Navigate to the 'bin' directory of the VxWorks.
For example: cd c:\windriver\vxworks-6.3\host\x86-win32\bin
c. Run vxsimnetds_inst, This installs WindRiver Network Daemon for Vxworks Simulator.
d. Open services.msc from RUN
e. Search for Windriver Network and start the service.

a. From control Panel->Add Hardware
b. In the pop up window select "Yes, I have already connected the hardware"
c. In next window select "Add New Hardware Device"
d. IN the next pop up window select the option "Network Adapter", Click on Next
e. Click on "Have Disk"
f. In next window browse to c:\windriver\vxworks-6.3\host\x86-win32\bin.
g. Select WindriverWRTAP and click on Next.

Step3. Checking WRTAP
a. Open the properties window for WRTAP Network Adapter.
b. Under 'Use the following IP address' mention 192.168.200.254, click on Ok.

Step4. Open DOS prompt and ping 192.168.200.254, if ping is successful indicates that the network setup is done.
