Question & Answer

Question

Rhapsody on Linux does not release Animation socket after exit.

Answer

Example Scenario:
1. Open the Dishwasher Model in RiJ.
2. Execute the Model on Animation Mode.
3. Give "Go" for Animation.
4. "Stop" the Animation Mode.
5. It is observed that the Rhapsody does not exit from the animation mode.
6. Exit from Rhapsody and Reopen the RiJ.

It is observed that the Rhapsody's Animation socket is not released and the following error message appears:
" Rhapsody cannot create socket. Check for another copy of Rhapsody running. Animation will be disabled!!
Do you want to continue?".

This is because of the use of the jdkgcj which is provided by default with RedHat 9.0. Rhapsody supports JDK 1.4.2
