  When WebSphere tries to flush data using a connection that is
  already closed, an ABEND can occur.
  

Problem conclusion

• A check is being added to detect when data is being flushed to
  already-closed connections and to throw an IOException back to
  the caller and avoid a server ABEND.
  
  APAR PI37710 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs
  8.0.0.12 and 8.5.5.7 of WebSphere Application Server.
