Error description

• This APAR will address two problems:
  1) ABEND002 during unload of a DB containing fixed length
     segments that are compressed.
  2) Can not pause a BMP that does not do any checkpoints.

  This APAR is correcting the following problems:
  1. Abend S002 during unload. Database has fixed length segments
  that are compressed. A segment can increase in size if
  compressed. This is either 10 bytes or what has been specified
  in the COMPRTN parameter. When calculating the LRECL for the
  unload file, those increments were ignored.
  2. Can not pause a BMP that does not do any checkpoints.
  ORF BMP pause checks for a previous checkpoint call when
  testing for special pause.  This is done to be able to repeat
  a symbolic checkpoint with its data areas.  However, a read BMP
  may not have checkpoints.  We will then not do the pause.
  

Problem conclusion

• The APAR is correcting the above mentioned problems, as follows:
  1. Code has been changed to add the compression increment when
    calculating the maximum segment length.
  2. A new parameter in the CHKPNTS file has been added.
     CHKP=N
   This parameter indicates that the application does not do CHKP
   calls.  When a pause request has to be honored, we will now
   issue a simple checkpoint call and abend U3303.
