Error description
Summary: Restarting workflow on an item means that item is unable to be viewed by certain users in the AuthoringPortlet Problem: When a content item in a published stage has its workflow restarted (so it goes back to a draft state), it is not viewable to the users who have permissions as determined by the draft stage of the workflow. Furthermore, in the All Items -> Deleted view of the authoring portlet, the representation of the deleted published item is not viewable only to those users who have permissions as determined by the publish stage. This is incorrect behaviour. Analysis: When a published item is restarted, a draft summary is created to represent the new draft state of the item and a deletion summary is created to represent the previous published state of the item. However, the permissions set on the draft summary are not equivalent to that of the draft stage (that is the stage in which the item is now in after the restart) of the workflow and the permissions set on the deletion summary are not equivalent to that of the publish stage (the stage the item was in before the restart). Solution: The solution has been to modify the code to set the permissions correctly on the summaries according to the stage they represent. restarts the workflow on an item.

Users Affected: All Java edition LWWCM users Problem Description: When a content item in a published stage has its workflow restarted (so it goes back to a draft state), it is not viewable to the users who have permissions as determined by the draft stage of the workflow. This is incorrect behaviour.
Problem conclusion
When a published item is restarted, a draft summary is created to represent the new draft state of the item and a deletion summary is created to represent the previous published state of the item. However, the permissions set on the draft summary are not equivalent to that of the draft stage (that is the stage in which the item is now in after the restart) of the workflow and the permissions set on the deletion summary are not equivalent to that of the publish stage (the stage the item was in before the restart). The solution has been to modify the code to set the permissions correctly on the summaries according to the stage they represent. restarts the workflow on an item.
