The launchpad application fails to run from a directory with a name that contains spaces

Troubleshooting


Problem

You cannot run the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server launchpad application from a directory whose name contains a space or spaces. Examples include the following directories: [

    ] [
  • ]C:\Documents and Settings\WAS[
  • ] [
  • ]C:\WebSphere Application Server Install[
  • ] [
  • ]/home/user/WAS Install[
  • ] [
  • ]/opt/My Directory/WAS[
  • ] [
]

Symptom

You might see the following error message:
cp: cannot stat '/callback.sh': No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat '/changeDirectory.sh' : No such file or directory
./launchpad.sh: line 136: /SetArchitecture.sh: No such file or directory
./launchpad.sh: line 140: /browser.sh: No such file or directory

Resolving The Problem

Move the application server installation image to a path that does not contain any spaces.
