PK37921: ABENDU4015-7D RUNNING IMS BATCH JOBS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After installing IMS Sysplex Manager, all IMS batch jobs
  receive ABENDU4015 - 7D. Sysplex Manager should not be
  initializing in batch.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IMSSM.                          *
  *                 The APAR fixes 2 problems:                   *
  *                  - IMSSM should not attempt to start in      *
  *                 batch region - if IMSSM library is in the    *
  *                 steplib conncatination for the batch job,    *
  *                 program DFSFLGX0 attempts to init IMSSM      *
  *                 and initialization fails- region abends.     *
  *                  - FIND NEXT command does not work on        *
  *                 view exceptions panel.                       *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS SM starts in batch region and       *
  *                      fails to initialize, abending the       *
  *                      region:                                 *
  *                      -GJE2104E DFSTCBTB FUNC=LOCATE,TCB=     *
  *                      CURRENT FAILED                          *
  *                      -GJE2001E IMS SYSPLEX MANAGER           *
  *                      INITIALIZATION FAILED                   *
  *                      - USER COMPLETION CODE=4015 REASON      *
  *                      CODE=0000007D                           *
  *                      FIND NEXT command does not point to     *
  *                      next occurance of the string in         *
  *                      view exceptions panel.                  *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  IMSSM starts initialization in batch region and abends the
  region. Initialization programs have been changed to check
  for region type at the very beginning and exit if region
  type is batch.
  Panel GJEPVIEW has been changed to remove cursor positioning
  on reinit- and to position on next string in the data set.
  FIND NEXT is ebnabled.

• Programs and panels have been changed to fix the problems
