Error description

  • IBM Developer for z systems  (RDZ/IDZ) 14.0.0.5 ifix 1
In COBOL Editor, attempt to "Search text in File" result in no
hits when 'Restrict Search to columns' is set.

IDz restrict it to "end column -1" instead of just end column
set by the user

Local fix

  • Don't use Restrict Search or add 1 in the dedicated End column
field.

Problem summary

  • The matching length calculation was not correct. An exact string
length range would not allow a match of the search string.

Problem conclusion

  • The index was adjusted to have the correct length for the search
string.
