  *                 description entry named DFHCOMMAREA within   *
  *                 the LINKAGE SECTION, and the data item is    *
  *                 larger than the maximum allowable size of    *
  *                 32kb.                                        *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: New Function: This APAR adds a new      *
  *                      warning message that will be issued at  *
  *                      compile time if the CICS option is in   *
  *                      effect and the user defined             *
  *                      DFHCOMMAREA data description entry in   *
  *                      the LINKAGE SECTION is larger than the  *
  *                      maximum allowable size of 32kb.         *

  COBOL users would like to be warned by the compiler if their
  data description entry for DFHCOMMAREA in the LINKAGE SECTION
  exceeds 32kb when the CICS option is in effect.

• The compiler is changed to issue a new compile time warning
  message when the data description entry for DFHCOMMAREA within
  the LINKAGE SECTION exceeds 32kb when the CICS option is in
  effect. The message is as follows:
  
  IGYDS1381-W The CICS option was in effect but the size of
  DFHCOMMAREA exceeded 32768 bytes. The size was accepted.
