**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server users of * * federated repositories * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Duplicate users returned if * * intermittent LDAP connectivity errors * * occur during paged searches * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** During a search where paging is required to get all the search results from the LDAP server, duplicate users can occur if there are intermittent errors contacting the LDAP server. For example, if page 2 of search results is requested and a ServiceUnavailableException occurs andthe request is tried again and successfully connects to the LDAP, page 1 is re-requested and appended to the results that already contain page 1. In cases where there are recurring connectivity issues, the duplicates could cause a MaxResultsExceededException that would normally not be encountered leading to a search returned with no results.
Problem conclusion
