Error description
V11 IVP job issues down-level detection on DB2 catalog table spaces with wrong EXPECTED LEVEL ID. SYSLGRNX contains bad entry with START RBA value ending with x001F and END RBA value having xA3 in the front of the correct RBA value, which caused DLD at the following IVP job that accesses the table in question.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 11 for z/OS users of the DSNTIJEN * * ENFM processing job. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Down-level detection message DSNB232I * * is issued for several catalog table * * spaces after the V11 DSNTIJEN ENFM job * * step ENFM0027 completes processing * * directory table space DSNDB01.SYSLGRNX. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available * **************************************************************** During the DB2 11 for z/OS ENFM process (DSNTIJEN job) the DSNDB01.SYSLGRNX directory table space is processed in step ENFM0027. ENFM0027 is a REORG with SHRLEVEL CHANGE. During the REORG LOG phase, UPDATE log records that are processed might be incorrectly manipulated which can result in invalid START_RBA and STOP_RBA columns values in DSNDB01.SYSLGRNX. The UPDATE log records being applied during the REORG LOG phase reflect changes being made to the STOP_RBA column values in DSNDB01.SYSLGRNX. If the START_RBA and STOP_RBA are changed incorrectly then this can cause the reported down-level detection problems. The down-level detection errors reported are false, the data in the table spaces is valid. The invalid START_RBA and STOP_RBA column values could also impact the ability to recover the objects whose values were broken.
Problem conclusion
DB2 11 for z/OS ENFM code has been changed to correct the problem that can result in damaged START_RBA and STOP_RBA columns values in the DSNDB01.SYSLGRNX directory table. Additional keywords: DB2MIGV11/K MSGDSNB232I SYSLGRNX
