Error description

The JVM system property
"com.ibm.ssl.performURLHostNameVerification" is used to
enable
the function of enforcing URL hostname verification when
making
HTTP URL connections. An attribute on the <SSL> element is
introduced to enable this feature on Liberty profile.

Local fix

Add -Dcom.ibm.ssl.performURLHostNameVerification=true to the
jvm.options file

Currently, enabling SSL host name verification requires setting
the JDK system property
"com.ibm.ssl.performURLHostNameVerification=true".  This APAR
provides the ability to enable it via an attribute in the
server.xml file.

Problem conclusion

Add the following to the server.xml file to enable SSL host name
verification: <sslDefault httpHostNameVerification="true" />

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 18.0.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for

Temporary fix

Set JDK system property:
com.ibm.ssl.performURLHostNameVerification = true
