Error description
You are running CICS transaction server 5.1 and receive the following error: . +DFHAP0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'00002162' in module DFHZATS. Reviewing the dump, found the failing transaction was CDTS- which Provides remote terminal delete. Reviewing the error information: Error happened in program DFHZATS at offset 00001F5A The failing instruction is a Test under Mask- TM 9180 3020 | TM X'20'(R3),X'80' Due to R3 containing an invalid address- 50404143. . R3 was loaded from R2+5C, and R2 contains zeros - 00000000, causing us to go to low core. . R2 was loaded from offset x'14' into a SKELETON control block, which should be the address of a surrogate TCTTE, but is zeros. . CICS internal trace shows DFHZATS attempting to a remote delete: ZATS ENTRY REMOTE_DELETE REMOTE_SYSID(SSSS) TERMID(TTTT) Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVDAM

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When transaction routing, abend * * 0C4/AKEA occurs at offset X'00002162' * * in module DFHZATS. Message DFHAP0001 * * is issued to report this. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: . * **************************************************************** The problem occurred when running with the z/OS IGVDGNPP debug tool (also known as PRIMEPSA) active. A transaction routing request was received by the remote region and DFHZTSP identified that the skeleton TCTTE for the required terminal needed to be replaced. DFHZATS was called to delete the existing skeleton. As part of this processing, there is a check to determine whether a surrogate needs to be signed off. A null surrogate address was used to access storage within the PSA and set an invalid DFHSNEX address. Use of this invalid DFHSNEX address caused the 0C4 abend. Additional Keywords: S0C4 abend0C4 DFHAP0001 msgDFHAP0001 AP0001 REMDEL
Problem conclusion
DFHZATS has been changed to check for a null surrogate address and bypass further checks about signing off a surrogate.
