PI84167: QMF DATA SERVICE OVERLAID DB2 SSID

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When QMF Data Service uses the same SSID as the DB2 to which it
  was trying to connect, Data Service will overlay the DB2 SSI
  entry in memory, blocking the DB2 from receiving console
  commands, ie: (STOP DB2 or START DB2) and blocking DB2 from
  accepting threads.
  
  Correcting the problem requires canceling the DB2 MSTR task and
  IPL required to rebuild the ERLY code for the DB2.
  
  At a minimum the code should check whether the SSI entry is
  already in use and produce an error, not overlay it.
  

Local fix

• Until a PTF is available, make sure to speciy a different SSID.
