Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server including Liberty. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The HTTP method might be altered from * * GET to POST while processing an * * invalid WASPostParam Cookie. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** There is a situation that an HTTP client might send back a cookie which the WebSphere Application Server sent a deletion message. When this case happens, while processing the invalid WASPostParam cookie, the runtime code alters the HTTP method from GET to POST. As a result, the servlet might return some error because of an unexpected HTTP method.
Problem conclusion
With this fix, the HTTP method stays the same. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.5.5.12, 9.0.0.4 and Liberty 17.0.0.2. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
