Error description
IBM z/OS Explorer Host - zExpl Description : For private >2G, the CURRENT value is higher than the highwater and it is also higher than the defined limit. Currently the exact RAXLVABYTES value is displayed, instead of the value of (allocated RAXLVABYTES - hidden RAXLVHBYTES).

For PRIVATE >2G, the CURRENT value may be higher than the HIGHWATER value and may be higher than the defined limit. 02.Collection of server logs for IBM Explorer for z/OS may take longer than desired for long running RSED jobs. An option 03.When RSE uploads to an existing file on zFS, the original file gets backed up by being renamed and a new file is created in its place. When the original file is moved, the zFS tag properties move along with it such that the new file no longer has those tags. 04.When file systems for user log files get full and existing log files are truncated, abend 0c4 sometimes occurs. Not to close the file pointer that causes abends, replace truncate() call to ftruncate() and changed the timing to restart the subsequent log outputs. 05.IBM Explorer for z/OS: when a server threadpool process is busy (timeout status) then zOS Explorer client fails to display the owner of a lock and displays a message like: CRRZI0643W The file <filename> is locked by " and will be opened in read-only mode. 06.RSE attempts to determine the file type of files visible in the expanded directory tree, which causes access violations for files to which the user does not have read access.
Problem conclusion
01.IBM Explorer for z/OS host modules have been updated to display the calculation of (allocated RAXLVABYTES - hidden RAXLVHBYTES), rather than the exact RAXLVABYTES value. 02.Host modules have been updated to accept a new RANGE option on the RSED LOGS operator command, to limit the collection to the most recent logs within the specified time range. 03.In order to prevent the tags from being lost, instead of using rename, the backup will be created by programmatically copying the original file contents to a backup location. That way the original file never loses its zFS tags. 04.The host module is updated to replace truncate() call to ftruncate() and changed the timing to restart the subsequent log outputs. 05.Error messages have been improved to include the job name and process ID of the owning server threadpool when a resource is locked by an unresponsive threadpool. 06.Activation of Java option -Ddisable.classification=true triggers RSE to no longer attempt to determine the file type of files visible in the expanded directory tree.
