Error description

  • When using GEN to generate the DDL for stored procedures
    the following error message occurred:
    ADB1932W Parser error - the original DDL will be generated ...
             Reason code = 28
             DBA2.S2SPPRO
    
    Running the job in batch, it finishs with rc04 with the
    following message:

       ADB2GEN - Create DDL from catalog info 2016-11
       --------
       Unable to identify 'from-clause' in DELETE statement
    
       ADB2PA: The following statement could not be parsed :
    
    The issue is the missing "FROM" in the DELETE command:
       DELETE  SESSION.TABLAX WHERE 1=1 ...
    
    The DB2 SQL Reference guide under DELETE says:
    "Syntax alternatives:
    For compatibility with other SQL implementations, the FROM
    keyword can be omitted."
    

Local fix

  • Add the "FROM" keyword before the table name.
