Error description
DB2 HPU refuses to unload (and issues the message INZU042E NO GLOBAL FULL IMAGE COPY FOUND FOR TABLESPACE dbname.tsname) the whole data from a partition-by-growth table space from a set of image copies data set (taken at the partition level) by specifying the COPYDDN LAST_IC or COPYDDN -integer if at least a partition has been added to the table space after the time when the set of image copies were taken. DB2 HPU accepts to unload such a set of image copies only if a PART option compatible with the source image copies is specified. For example, assume that the MYDB.MYTS partition-by-growth table space had 15 partition at time t1 and all the partition were copied at that time. At time t2, MYDB.MYTS is automatically added a new partition. If the following unload is requested at time t3 (later than t2) UNLOAD TABLESPACE MYDB.MYTS COPYDDN -13 SELECT * FROM ME.MYTABLE OUTDDN SYSREC the unload fails with NZU042E NO GLOBAL FULL IMAGE COPY FOUND FOR TABLESPACE MYDB.MYTS. The following unload allows to unload the data from the whole set of 15 image copies: UNLOAD TABLESPACE MYDB.MYTS PART (1-15) COPYDDN -13 SELECT * FROM ME.MYTABLE OUTDDN SYSREC As partitions are added to the table space automatically, this prevents to run an unload such as the above ones on a regular base without any modification. DB2 HPU should accept to unload the data from a potentially complete set of image copies. A potentially complete set of image copies consists of a set with partition numbers ranging from 1 to n without any lack in the sequence.
