Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Utilizing the choice of 'none' for * * the JNDI datasource name of the Job * * Scheduler System app no longer results * * in the automatic configuration of the * * default datasource. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Due to a regression in the configuration process of the Job Scheduler system app, the value of 'none' for the JNDI datasource name is no longer recognized. Because of this, automatic configuration of a default data source, in the absence of a provided name, no longer occurs. The user is forced to manually configure a default derby datasource as an additional step.
Problem conclusion
The Job Scheduler configuration process has been updated to once again recognize the menu selection choice of 'none' for the JNDI datasource name. With this recognition restored, the default datasource for the Job Scheduler system app is once again aoutomatically configured as part of the configuration process on behalf of the user with no additional steps required. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.5.5.11 and 9.0.0.2.
