Error description
When performing a build using IBM Rational ClearCase's clearmake utility, a large number of successive "+=" redefinition of a make macro may cause clearmake to use all available process memory and abort. This issue requires approximately 9,000 lines in the form of: BIG_MACRO += A lot more text to add to BIG_MACRO to be present in the makefile. The same makefile will successfully process using the current GNU make.
