Federation or removal of node specific MustGather information

To troubleshoot why the addNode, removeNode or custom profile federation fails follow these steps, top down. Note if custom profile or administrative console federation fails use the scripts located in the base (Application Server or Custom) profiles.

  1. Stop all Application Server Java™ processes.
  2. Backup (if needed) and then purge all logs in ND_PROFILE/logs/dmgr directory on the Application Server Network Deployment.
  3. Start the Deployment Manager by issuing the following command from the ND_PROFILE/bin directory:

    startManager.bat/sh

  4. Enable administrative trace on deployment manager under runtime tab .

To turn on tracing for dmgr log into administrative console -->system administration--> deployment manager --> logging and tracing -->change log detail levels --> specify "*=info:Admin=all" --> Apply -->save.
  5. Trace the addNode or removeNode script by adding the "-trace" option to the command, note the addNode or removeNode script is located in BASE_PROFILE/bin directory. Example of the command is below:

    ./addNode.sh dmgr-hostname dmgr_soap_port -trace

NOTE: The trace output is logged to the addNode.log/removeNode.log file located in theBASE_PROFILE/logs directory.

Run the collector tool on both Application Server and Network Deployment.
  6. Follow directions in MustGather: Readme First open PMR and send data to IBM Support.

  7. Follow instructions to send diagnostic information to IBM support.
