Error description
You route a transaction from your TOR CICS region over an IPCONN connection to an AOR. Over in the AOR, the transaction is in a DISABLED state. You receive the following back . DFHAC2008 date time applid Transaction ABCD has been disabled and cannot be used. . At that point, the IPCONN session from the TOR to the AOR remains in use and unavailable for other tasks to use. Dispatcher Domain in the TOR will show the task in a "IS_RECV conn/sess" suspend, where 'conn' = the IPCONN connection name and 'sess' is the session name the task is using. If this occurs enough times, it could use up all available sessions. . It will also cause problems at CICS termination. CICS will wait for activity to complete and connections to go out of service, but the IPCONN connection will not go out of service because it still believes a session is in use. It may also cause problems if the AOR region cycles and tries to re-establish the connection back to the TOR. The TOR may still believe the connection is established from the prior AOR run and not allow it to reconnect. . . Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVDAM
Local fix
Cycle the TOR region to free up the IPCONN connection
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IPIC transaction routing task may hang * * in a TOR if the transaction is disabled * * in the AOR. * **************************************************************** A transaction in a TOR is routed for the first time to an AOR over an IPIC connection. The routed transaction in the AOR is DISABLED. Transaction CSAC is attached instead. Because it is the first time that the terminal is transaction routing, transaction CITS is attached to autoinstall the remote terminal. This results in the transaction routing indicator, issb_transaction_routing, to be reset to issb_other. The issb_other prevents DFHISXM bind processing from registering the ISSB with recovery manager. During CSAC task termination, Recovery Manager does not call IS to free the ISSB and send a response to the task in the TOR. The task in the TOR hangs in an IS_RECEIVE wait and the ISSB in the AOR becomes orphaned and will cause the IPCONN to remain in FREEING state when RELEASED.
Problem conclusion
DFHISXM has been changed to send a response to the task in the TOR and to free the ISSB during CSAC task termination.
