Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All Users of WebSphere Application Server * * * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: RemoveSpecialHeaders isn't available * * when using Intelligent Management * * generated Plugin. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** RemoveSpecialHeaders is a necessary property when using a Trusted Proxy. A generated plugin for Intelligent Management doesn't provide this property upon initial load which causes issues to keep the plugin from removing the $ws headers when a request comes to the plugin.
Problem conclusion
The Plugin generator has been updated to allow RemoveSpecialHeaders within the Config section of the XML which in turn will be honored within the plugin binary for new request coming from a trusted proxy. The new property needs to be set at the Webservers > [webserver name] > plugin properties > custom properties page using the prefix of "PLG.Config.". See PI55092 for more details on the use of PLG.Config. Once in place, the newly generated XML should include RemoveSpecialHeaders within the <Config tag of the XML. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.14 & 9.0.0.8.
