Error description

  • The customer is using MultiSite and the trouble is with two
    sites (SITEN and SITEB).

SITEB -Current Master site to be decommissioned sometime in
    the future
Upgraded all the clients to Windows 10 machines with CQ
    version 9.0.0.5.
Since planning to uprgade environment, did not change
the Oracle version and left it at version 10.

    SITEN -Replica
Windows Server 2008. The Oracle version 11.

When running multiutil syncreplica from SITEN to SITEB, the
    client gets the following
    error:

    Multiutil: CRMDB0001E SQLExecute: RETCODE=-1, State=37000,
    Native Error=911
[IBM Rational DataDirect][ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol
    driver][oracle]ORA-00911: invalid character
    SQLstatement="..."

multiutil syncreplica from SITEB to SITEN is not a problem.

This sounds may be a code page/character set issue. The SITEB
system is old and the Oracle character set is set to
    WE8ISO8859P1 where the
SITEN system is newer and was set Oracle to ANSI.

Code page of CQMS.XXX.SITEB (or SITEN): 20127 (US-ASCII)
Code page of client: 1252 (MS Windows Latin 1)

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available in ClearQuest 9.0.1.5.
There was a parsing defect in ClearQuest's ODBC database drivers
that caused this error when text data contained specific
characters. This issue has been corrected with the current
version of the ClearQuest ODBC drivers.
