  compiling with TRUNC(OPT) option.

Problem summary

  *                 contains a comparison between a USAGE        *
  *                 BINARY/COMP/COMP-4 data item and a literal   *
  *                 whose binary representation requires more    *
  *                 bytes than the data item to which it is      *
  *                 being compared.                              *

  The compiler was representing the literal internally with an
  incorrect size causing it to generate incorrect code for the
  comparison.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was updated to represent the literal in such
  comparisons with the correct size.
