PM18660: DSQ1BLNM RC00 AFTER PRIOR ABEND

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Migration job DSQ1BLNM ended with a RC=0 and message saying
  CONGRATULATIONS  THE QMF INSTALLATION HAS COMPLETED although
  the job had abended.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All QMF for TSO/CICS users running database  *
  *                 installation or migration jobs.              *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: QMF database installation job DSQ1BLNM  *
  *                      encountered a DB2 for z/OS abend during *
  *                      processing and still ended with a       *
  *                      MAXCC=0 in the job.The incorrect job    *
  *                      return code misled the user into        *
  *                      thinking the job had run successfully   *
  *                      when it had not.                        *

  QMF database installation job, DSQ1BLNM uses a REXX exec called
  DSQ1INST which was not checking return codes properly. When DB2
  for z/OS abended, it was giving a negative return code to REXX
  which DSQ1INST did not check for.
  

Problem conclusion

• The DSQ1INST exec, used in QMF database installation jobs
  DSQ1BLNI, DSQ1BLNM, DSQ1BVW, DSQ1STGJ, DSQ1BINX, DSQ1BINR,
  DSQ1EIVS, DSQ1EDX2, DSQ1EDX1, DSQ1EDJ2, DSQ1EDJ4, DSQ1EAS2,
  DSQ1EAS4 and DSQ1nCCS and all associated NLF install files of
  similar naming, has been corrected to detect negative REXX
  return codes (such as those returned by DB2 for z/OS abends) and
  properly relay the information so that the job step return code
  indicates failure.  Additionally, REXX exec, DSQ1UDFI used in
  installation jobs DSQ1BSP and DSQ1BUDF and REXX exec DSQ1BPKB
  used in job DSQ1BPKG have been corrected in the same manner.
