PM90932; 8.5.5: Internal spi classes from GDM component used by service mapping are visible to the whole application server.

Download

Abstract

GDM classes are visible to the whole application server.

Download Description

PM90932 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:
Incorrect packaging of GDM libraries used by Service Mapping results in GDM classes being visible to other components and user applications. This can lead to problems when those components or applications themselves package GDM.

LOCAL FIX:

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
Due to the way GDM libraries were made available to the application server runtime for use by the Service Mapping component, these classes could be loaded in almost any context in the application server, including other server components and user applications. This can result in problems for stack
products or applications that use GDM.

USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM WebSphere Application Server

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
GDM classes are visible to the whole application server.

RECOMMENDATION:
None

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
This APAR resolves the problem by using mandatory attributes on the GDM packages to prevent them being visible to bundles that do not specify the attribute on their imports.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.1. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information:
