Error description

  • In DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS, when using ALC to
drop columns and contains RI, Foreign key for some parent
tables may be missing after completion of the job.

*                 references more than the deleted column.     *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If a column is deleted that is part of  *
*                      a foreign key which references          *
*                      other columns, the foreign key is       *
*                      not recreated.                          *

Code assumed foreign keys referenced only a single column.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The problem is resolved.  A confirmation panel will be
issued to warn the user of the possible need to change
the parent table to match the new foreign key, and allow
the user to continue with the delete or cancel the operation.
