APAR status

Error description

  • Portlet Load Monitoring does not honor portlet preferences set
in the portlet.xml file. If PLM portlet preferences are set in
portlet.xml then those settings are not evaluated. This results
in the portlet not being monitored by PLM and the Manage
Portlets Portlet not showing the portlet as being monitored by
PLM.

Problem summary

  • Portlet Load Monitoring does not honor portlet preferences
set in the portlet.xml file. If PLM portlet preferences are set
in portlet.xml then those settings are not evaluated. This
results in the portlet not being monitored by PLM and the Manage
Portlets Portlet not showing the portlet as monitored by PLM.

Problem conclusion

  • The code now first checks for PLM portlet preferences at the
PortletDescriptor. These preferences are set by the portal admin
via the Manage Portlets Portlet. If no portlet preferences are
found on the PortletDescriptor layer, then the code checks for
portlet preferences on the ServletDescriptor layer. On this
layer, the portlet preferences from portlet.xml are found.
