Error description
updating the wmq resource adapter at the node level causes the wmq resource adapter binaries installed at the <was_root_install>/installedConnectors directory to be deleted. Because the wmq resource adapter is deleted from that directory it affects other profiles (old and new) which would still have a reference to those files and causing the wmq resource adapters in those profiles to not work correctly.
