Error description
Sysplex paralelism with remote DB2 case. When paralelism structures are built, and when child task is being soft cancelled, storage of those structures is not freed, leading to storage leak in eg. ECSA. db2stglk/J example: PHB Subpool name F/V CL SP --- ------------ --- -- -- 7DF451D8 PIPE MGR CL12 SUBPOOL Var 289820K 12 229 which are occupied by several hundreds/tousends of ....PPEL.....5 . 79BE6930 DSNXPCRT +0D93 UK07987 MSGDXR175E DXR175E can be seen as well due to ECSA lack Keywords: SQLSTORAGE sqlparallelism sqlsysplexp DB2STGLK/K DB2PARALL/K
Local fix
disable parallelism
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 for z/OS 8 and DB2 9 for z/OS * * SYSPLEX parallelism users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A parallelism storage leak causing an * * abend in DSNXPCRT +0D93 may occur when * * soft cancels RC00E50013 are issued on * * the sysplex parallelism queries. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A parallelism storage leak causing an abend in DSNXPCRT +0D93 may occur when soft cancels RC00E50013 are issued on the sysplex parallelism queries. It is because after the thread cancelling, the parallelism storage is not released properly. This could happen on all the sysplex parallelism queries if a soft cancel is issued, therefore, the symptom is not query related.
Problem conclusion
DB2 is modified to release the parallelism storage properly after a soft cancel is issued for sysplex parallelism query. Additional Keywords: SQLSTORAGE PARALLELISM SQLPARALLELISM SYSPLEX SQLSYSPLEXP
