Error description

  • Add the IMSCMDOPT control statement to change options of IMS
commands that are issued by TOSI. Using the new control
statement, IPR Driver can issue /DBD, /DBR, and /STA commands
with GLOBAL option via TOSI. NOPFA option can also be specified
    for /DBD and /DBR commands.
This is the request for FITS MR0903095549.

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
A new control statement for reorganization manager, IMSCMDOPT is
    added.

Using the new control statement, IPR Driver can issue /DBD,
/DBR, and /STA commands with GLOBAL option via IMS TOSI.

If IMSCMDOPT=ALL,GLOBAL is specified, IPR Driver issues /DBD,
/DBR, and commands with GLOBAL option.
If IMSCMDOPT=DBD,GLOBAL is specified, IPR Driver issues /DBD
    command with GLOBAL option.
If IMSCMDOPT=STA,GLOBAL is specified, IPR Driver issues /STA
    command with GLOBAL option.

One or more IMSCMDOPT control statements can be specified.
However, when the first parameter is ALL, only one IMSCMDOPT
    control statement can be specified.

GLOBAL option is valid when IRLM is active.

If IMS commands are issued by IMS TOSI, all IMS subsystems that
shares the database must be defined in the TOSI XCF group that
is specified by TOSIXCFGRP control statement.

If GLOBAL is specified, IPR Driver selects an IMS subsystem
in the TOSI XCF group and issues the IMS command with GLOBAL
option to it using TOSI. The IMS Command Processing report
shows the command result on the IMS subsystem only. The results
on the other IMS subsystems are not shown.

If /DBD or /DBR commands have not been completed within 20
seconds on all the IMS subsystems, the HPSG0334I message
indicating that any IMS subsystem is still using the database
    can be issued.

This enhancement is being implemented for the FITS requirement
    MR0903095549.

    2.7.8.nn IMSCMDOPT control statement
The IMSCMDOPT control statement specifies the option parameters
for the IMS commands that are issued by the IMS Tools Online
    System Interface.

By using IMSCMDOPT control statements, you can specify the
GLOBAL option for /DBD, /DBR, and /STA commands.

This control statement is optional. If you do not specify this
control statement, option parameters that are described in
"IMSCMD control statement" in topic 2.7.8.16 and "STARTDB
control statement" in topic 2.7.8.31 are used.

An IMSCMDOPT control statement must be specified with
    IMSCMD=YES,TOSI.

The first parameter specifies the IMS commands to apply the
option parameter change among the IMS commands that are issued
    during an IPR Driver job.
    ALL
       Applies to all IMS commands.
    DBD
       Applies to /DBD commands.
    DBR
       Applies to /DBR commands.
    STA

    Applies to /STA commands.

The second parameter specifies the option parameter for the IMS
commands that are specified by the first parameter.
    LOCAL
       LOCAL option is used.
    GLOBAL
For /DBD, /DBR, and /STA commands, GLOBAL option is used.

    Notes:
    1. One or more IMSCMDOPT control statements can be specified.
However, when the first parameter is ALL, only one IMSCMDOPT
    control statement can be specified.
    2. The GLOBAL option is effective when IRLM is active.
    3. When the GLOBAL option is specified, IPR Driver selects an
IMS subsystem in the TOSI XCF group and, by using TOSI, issues
the IMS command with the GLOBAL option to the IMS subsystem.
The IMS Command Processing report shows the result of the
command only for that IMS subsystem. The results on the other
    IMS subsystems are not shown.

    STATUS
The status of each command. If the command is processed by the
IMS system, the return code in the IMS DFS0488I message is
shown. If an error is returned from IMS TOSI, the meaning or
      the error is shown.

    | REQUEST IS NOT ISSUED (GLOBAL OPTION)
    | This message indicates that this IMS online subsystem did
    | not receive the IMS command directly from IMS TOSI. The
    | IMS command was sent to this subsytem through another
    | subsystem which directly received the IMS command (with
    | the GLOBAL option) from IMS TOSI. For subsystems that did
    | not receive IMS commands directly from IMS TOSI, the
    | status messages and return codes are not shown in this

HPSG0246E IMSCMDOPT STATEMENT CAN ONLY BE SPECIFIED ONCE WHEN

Explanation: Two or more IMSCMDOPT control statements are
specified. However, when the first parameter of an IMSCMDOPT
control statement specifies ALL, only one IMSCMDOPT control
statement can be specified in the JCL stream.
System Action: The IPR Driver ends with a return code of 8.
Programmer Response: Remove the IMSCMDOPT control statement that
specifies ALL for its first parameter, or remove other IMSCMDOPT
control statements, and rerun the job.
