Abstract

Provides the Runtime Environment components for use with applications developed with the IBM XL Fortran for Linux, V12.1 compiler.

Download Description

If you wish to run an application developed using the IBM XL Fortran for Linux, V12.1 compiler, but do not have the corresponding version of compiler or Runtime Environment already installed, then you need to install the Runtime Environment package.

Note: Depending on the application, in addition to the Runtime Environment package, you may also need to install the Addons package. The Addons package contains files that may be required by some third-party applications. Only download and install the Addons package if instructed by your application provider.

Prerequisites

Operating system (one of):
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 (RHEL 5.2)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL 6)
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 2 (SLES 10 SP2)
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (SLES 11)

Hardware:
You can use any of the IBM Power Systems servers as long as it is supported by your operating system distribution. For a complete list of the IBM Power Systems servers, see: http://www.ibm.com/systems/power/hardware/

Disk space:
- 45 MB

Installation Instructions

Refer to the README file for installation instructions.

Note: If the 32-bit libstdc++ package is not installed on a target RHEL6 system, running programs compiled with the XL Fortran compiler may fail due to the missing shared library libstdc++.so.6. To resolve the issue, install the following 32-bit package from the RHEL6 distribution:

rpm -ivh libstdc++-4.4.4-13.el6.ppc.rpm

Technical Support

The IBM XL Fortran for Linux, V12.1 RTE is not supported as a stand-alone product.

If you suspect a problem with this Fortran Runtime Environment while using it with a third-party application, contact your application provider for support.

Full support (installation, defect support, and general questions) for this Fortran Runtime Environment is available as part of the software maintenance agreement for the IBM XL Fortran for Linux, V12.1 compiler.
