Error description
A DLI job is running before an ORF job is started. If the DLI job ends before ORF enters its takeover phase, some data base updates that the DLI job was doing may be lost.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IMS Online Reorg Facility V1.2 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ORF did detect concurrent DLI jobs but * * did not abend. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** This APAR is correcting the following problems: 1.ORF did detect concurrent DLI jobs but did not abend. ORF does not allow DLI/DBB/ULU jobs against the same database. It therefore checks if DBRC has batch subsystems active against the database ORF is trying to reorganize. The batch jobs were identified, but ORF did not stop. 2.Too much usage of the GRS function. ORF uses global ENQ to signal to BMPs and to DBRC authorization. This may be very excessive. At this time the GRS scan for DBRC authorization is removed. There will be a future fix to eliminate the GRS usage in BMPs. 3.SPEED parameter was not copied when creating the shadow datasets. When ORF creates the shadow datasets, it copies the attributes from the existing datasets. 4.ORF did not provide usermod in the samplib. New member HRFSMP1 (for ORF BMP pauser) and HRFSMP2 (for DLI integrity) have been provided.
Problem conclusion
The following changes have been made to correct the above problems: 1.When the database is HALDB, the stop was bypassed. The code has been changed to recognize the stop. 2.The removal would allow batch to run against the database. Therefore, the REORGI flag in DBRC is turned on to prevent batch from running. Documentation change for this item: A utility has been created to list and switch the REORGI flag for a specified database. The sample JCL has been provided in the samplib as member HRFREINT. This may be used if the REORGI flag has been left on when the ORF job failed. Hold for this item: The usermod described in HRFSMP2 is no longer needed for blocking batch jobs. 3.The catalog retrieve module did not look for the speed parameter. Code has been changed to include the speed attribute and include this in the IDCAMS statement creation routine. 4.New member HRFSMP1 (for ORF BMP pauser) and HRFSMP2 (for DLI integrity) have been provided.
