IBM Rational Publishing Engine 1.1.2 has been made generally available on the IBM Passport Advantage Web site.

This release is a full product download.

  • Passport Advantage clients: Passport Advantage and Passport Advantage Express clients are required to sign in to Passport Advantage Online to download the image.

  • Non-Passport Advantage clients: If your organization did not purchase your software and support through Passport Advantage or Passport Advantage Express, you are required to sign in to the new IBM Software Group OEM Portal to download the image.

    Note: This includes clients with Flexible Contract Type (FCT) license purchases and IBM Business Partners.

This release contains the following new features:

  • Installation Manager: In this release you use the IBM Installation Manager based installer to install IBM Rational Publishing Engine 1.1.2.
  • Variables in native filters: Rational Publishing Engine V1.1.2 can support template variables used in native filter. With IBM Rational Publishing Engine V1.1.2 it is possible to build dynamic native filters. The native filters can refer template variables to adapt the scope of the query to the dynamic conditions.
  • OSLC Reporting Domain v1.0 (now known as Reportable REST v2.0 spec)
  • Monitoring and control servlet for Web Services and local document generation.
  • Support Rational Publishing Engine Web Service on WebSphere Application Server.
  • Formal support of SoDA migration utilities.
  • Load balancing: The load balancing feature reduces work load directed to a single web server instance by providing a larger set of web service instances to publish documents.
  • Template Translation: You can design a template with the language of your choice, translate a template from one language to another or use an existing template containing multiple languages to design a new template.
  • Mobility via connection recovery: For a long remote publishing process, you can disconnect your laptop from the Rational Publishing Engine web service processes and reconnect later without loosing the connectivity to that process and download the results.
  • Type casting: Type casting is used to refine the results of a query.
  • New metadata fields in Document Specification: Two new properties have been added to the metadata section of the document specification in the IBM Rational Publishing Engine launcher, pre-command and post-command.
  • Script expressions now preserve new lines: Data values that contain only carriage returns will pass conditions that could not pass in the previous IBM Rational Publishing Engine version.
  • "Loop" function: Adds "do while" capabilities to IBM Rational Publishing Engine.
