Error description
In a single region you have defined a CFDT without forward recovery, with LOAD(yes), and open first reference. Also you defined a file with foward recovery LOAD(no). Both of these definitions contain(are using) the exact same dataset name. . You reference the CFDT and the CFDT opens. You check the file and the file is not opened. The CFDT FCT does point to the DSNB for the dataset in question. The DSNB reflects the dataset name does not reflect forward recovery as expected. . Then you manually open the file. The files FCT's points to the same DSNB as pointed to by the CFDT FCT (address's are identical). The DSNB pointed to by both the CFDT and the files FCT now reflects forward recovery. . At this point you close the CFDT and then close the file. Both of which close fine. You then open the CFDT and receive the following messages: In the JESLOG: In the JESLOG: DFHLG0002 severe error (code X'020D') has occurred in module DFHLGGL. DFHFC0537 OPEN of file filename failed. The request to write a tie up record for the OPEN failed. In the MSGUSR: DFHAC2236 Transaction abend AEXZ .......backout successful.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Opening a CFDT fails with message * * DFHLG0002 A severe error (code X'020D') * * has occurred in module DFHLGGL, * * followed by message DFHFC0537. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A file and a CFDT both refer to the same data set. The file definition specifies forward recovery journalling; the CFDT does not. If the file is opened, the DSNB is updated to reflect the forward recovery attributes of the file. Closing the file nullifies the forward recovery log token, but the other forward recovery flag data remains in the DSNB. If the CFDT is now opened, DFHFCFS will call DFHFCLJ to write to DFHLGLOG and the forward recovery journal. Since there is no log token for the forward recovery journal, this results in the DFHLG0002 message - a severe error (code X'020D') has occurred in module DFHLGGL. This is followed by message DFHFC0537. KEYWORDS: msgdfhlg0002 lg0002 0002 020D 20D LGGL msgdfhfc0537 fc0537 0537 abendAEXZ AEXZ
Problem conclusion
DFHFCFS has been amended to avoid calling DFHFCLJ for CFDT files.
