PK89273 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:
The deployment of Java Enterprise Edition version 5 applications is slowed by repeated attempts to do annotation scans of resources for which previous attempts failed.

PROBLEM SUMMARY

USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM® WebSphere Application Server v7

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Slow deployment of Java Enterprise Edition version 5 applications

RECOMMENDATION:
None

Annotation processing continued to search for files even after they had failed to be located previously.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
This issue was resolved by having the annotation scanning process keep track of resources that failed to be located so that future requests for them would not be made.
