What are the steps to enable Search tracing in Cognos Analytics 11?

Answer

Steps are as follows:

1. Edit the /wlp/usr/servers/cognosserver/server.xml

2. add the following line:


To turn on search tracing add the following line to server.xml:
<logging maxFileSize="20" maxFiles="50" traceFileName="searchTrace.log" traceFormat="ADVANCED" traceSpecification="*=audit:com.ibm.bi.search.*=finest"/>

3. Save and restart
NB: A new log file called /logs/searchTrace.log will be created.
