UNICODE: Dimension element alias deleted on startup

Troubleshooting

Problem

After upgrading to Planning analytics from TM1, some dimension elements (unicode) alias are removed from the dimension. The attribute on the dimension (alias) is blank. The rest of other attributes are intact. The tm1server.log records the following warning (see below).

Symptom

3060   []   INFO   2018-02-09 19:02:27.264   TM1.Dimension   Alias "UMZÄUNUNG" for element "1234567abc" is invalid and has been set to blank.

Cause

There was a change in the default value for the tm1s.cfg parameter: UnicodeUpperLowerCase.

Prior to PA 2.0.3, the default value is F and as of PA 2.0.3, the default value is T.

This was changed to fix a defect for Planning analytics for Microsoft Excel

Resolving The Problem

Add the following parameter to the tm1s.cfg and restart the tm1 data server.
UnicodeUpperLowerCase=F
