Troubleshooting


Problem

When trying to run a report, error messages appear as the report is missing objects.

Symptom

Error Messages:

"QE-DEF-0359 The query contains a reference to at least one object '[Namespace Name].[Dimension Name].[Query Item Name]' that does not exist."

"RSV-SRV-0042 Trace back: RSBIBusPlugin.cpp(680) ..."

Cause

The object model of IBM Cognos is based on object names rather than IDs, so changing the names of any of the objects such as Dimension, Level, Shortcut, Query Subject, etc... can break the reference in the report and will result in the error above.

Resolving The Problem

Verify the Framework Manager model to make sure that the object names in the report (query items, query subject, shortcuts, etc...) match those in the published package.
