Troubleshooting


Problem

When opening IBM Rational Rhapsody, the HTML contents of the welcome page and about Rhapsody windows are shown as blank white spaces.

Cause

The default internal browser used by IBM Rhapsody is Microsoft Edge on Windows 10

Resolving The Problem

This is an issue related to the registry key:              
                                                                        
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet                           
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION                  
                                                                        
There is an entry there for Rhapsody.exe set to 1000000. This is done   
automatically by the Rhapsody application when it starts.               
                                                                        
The value should be set to 11001 (for IE v11) if you do not have Microsoft Edge installed.                        

There is a property that you can add to the rhapsody.ini file that will 
override and set this registry key value when Rhapsody is started.      
                                                                        
Please try the following steps:                                               
                                                                      

  1. Close Rhapsody                                                       
  2. Add this to the [General] section of your rhapsody.ini file (Where is the rhapsody.ini file?):

    InternalBrowserVersion=11001
         
  3. Save and close the file.  
  4. Restart Rhapsody. The welcome page should now display.
