Cause

Answer

In newer versions of Maximo, beginning with 7.6.0.5, the new feature "Configure Object Structure Security" has been introduced. To take advantage of it in case when let's say you need to limit access to SELECT action to the group of users that using Web Services, please follow the steps below ( as an example MXWO is configured)

1)Navigate to Integration > Object Structures > and select MXWO

2)Select Action "Configure Object Structure Security"; on dialog box check "Use Object Structure for Authorization" check box. The screen will change and you should see "Add Modify Signature Options". Please make sure that all Options are Visible.

3)Navigate to the "Security Groups" application and create a new group. Add users you wish to limit access to the group. Save it.

4)Click the "Object Structure" when new group is selected and limit access accordingly select "Read MXWO"

That would complete the task. The UI access will stay the same as it was before the configuration took place.
