Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' UTL line command issued
  on panel ADB21S 'Table Spaces' or ADB21T 'Tables, Views, and
  Aliases' can result in poor performance if the number of rows
  displayed on the panel is large. The poor performance is the
  result of the information being inserted into a Global Temporary
  Table ( GTT ) SESSION.aaaaaaa e.g SESSION.DB2T001.
  

Local fix

• Use selection criteria on panel ADB21 'System Catalog' to limit
  the number of rows reported on the ADB21S and ADB21T panels or
  use the 'Search arguments' filter on panels ADB21S and ADB21T.

  *                      selection criteria specified in panel   *
  *                      ADB21, the list of returned objects     *
  *                      can be long.  When the 'UTIL' line      *
  *                      command is issued from panel ADB21S     *
  *                      'Table Spaces' on an individual table   *
  *                      space, the performance is bad.          *

  *                      Similarly, when using DB2 Admin         *
  *                      Option '1 - DB2 system catalog'         *
  *                      on panel ADB2 'DB2 Administration       *
  *                      Menu 10.1.0' with object Option         *
  *                      'T - Tables' on panel ADB21 'System     *
  *                      Catalog' and no selection criteria      *
  *                      specified in panel ADB21, the list of   *
  *                      returned objects can be long.  When     *
  *                      the 'UTIL' line command is issued       *
  *                      from panel ADB21T 'Tables, Views and    *
  *                      Aliases' on an individual table, the    *
  *                      performance is bad.                     *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  A temporary DB2 table is built that includes all of the objects
  in panel ADB21S or ADB21T.
  

Problem conclusion

• Panels ADB21S and ADB21T are modified to reduce the list of
  objects for the 'UTIL' command processing.
