**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server and JAX-RPC web services. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WSWS3163E error: is still received * * after applying PM27844 * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fix pack containing this APAR. * **************************************************************** After applying PM27844, the following error is still observed: WSWS3163E: Error: The Web services engine could not find a target service to invoke! targetService is xxxxxx The problem occurs intermittently under heavy load, when JAX-RPC web service clients and providers run on the same thread within a WebSphere Application Server.
Problem conclusion
The fix for PM27844 did not prevent the WSWS3163E error in all cases, particularly when a web service client is invoked first on a thread, followed by a web service provider. The JAX-RPC engine has been corrected to properly handle all cases. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 6.1.0.41, 7.0.0.21, and 8.0.0.2 Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
