    ****************************************************************
In DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS, when using the IGNORE
    options:

    SYSINDEXPART:SQTY

and a difference is found in SYSINDEXPART.SECQTY, the DB2
Object Comparison Tool will alter the index changing the SECQTY
    value to 0.

Problem conclusion

  • Currently, when using the IGNORE function to ignore secondary
space allocation for table spaces or indexes, because of the
dependency between SQTY and SECQTYI fields on SYSTABLEPART and
SYSINDEXPART that are updated by DB2, the user has to specify
both SQTY and SECQTYI IGNORE options, like this:

    SYSTABLEPART: SQTY,SECQTYI
    SYSINDEXPART: SQTY,SECQTYI

This is explained in the DB2 Administration Tool and DB2
Object Comparison Tool's User's Guides. This problem
will happen if only one of the two is specified as IGNORE
    options.

After this APAR is applied, specifying either SQTY or
SECQTYI IGNORE options will cause the secondary space
    allocation to be ignored.

An update is needed in the DB2 Administration Tool's User's
Guide and the DB2 Object Comparison Tool's User's Guide.
Currently in the 'Overview of Ignores' topic of the DB2
Administration Tool for z/OS's User's Guide and in the
'Ignore fields' topic of the DB2 Object Comparison Tool
User's Guide, there is a paragraph which provides an example
of SQTY and SECQTYI, indicating the dependency between
these two fields. This paragraph needs to be updated, as the
fix for this APAR removes the restriction of specifying both
SQTY and SECQTYI ignore options for secondary space
    allocation.

The paragraph to be updated is:

Another type of dependency is between the SQTY and SECQTYI
fields on SYSTABLEPART and SYSINDEXPART that are updated
by DB2. If secondary quantity is to be ignored, specify both
fields or use the generic SPACE specification.

    It will be updated to:

Another type of dependency is between the SQTY and SECQTYI
fields on SYSTABLEPART and SYSINDEXPART that are updated
by DB2. If the secondary quantity is to be ignored, specify
both fields or use the generic SPACE specification. If only
one value is specified to be ignored, the tool will ignore
    both values.
