How to resolve user-issues with over-the-top installation of IBM Cognos Analytics R7 install

Problem

When upgrading from IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0.6 to IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0.7 using an over the top install, the single install environment becomes an application tier install for a distributed environment.

Diagnosing The Problem

When you open the cmplst.txt file for your IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0.7 install it shows only an application tier has been installed.

Resolving The Problem

Delete the cmplst.txt file and then try install over the top of your IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0.7 environment. This will reinstall every component making it a single install environment again.
