No CAS data in a Guardium Vulnerability Assessment Report

Question & Answer

Question

A Guardium VA scan for Teradata TDGSS Version: Teradata TGTW gives "No CAS Data Version: TERADATA 'Unknown'." - How can I resolve this ?

Answer

Recommendation notes in the report output below indicate the following:-

"Please make sure that all required Monitored items are enabled and the CAS process has had time to collect data prior to running the Assessment"

This does not apply to all tests but for the specific test - it requires CAS to execute and run some OS command to determine the version and patch level for Teradata TDGSS and TGTW.
There is no way to get the version and patch level for Teradata TDGSS and TGTW without CAS

To overcome that error:

    1. install CAS package

    2. point CAS to the collector

    3. rerun the assessment with the correct CAS template configured and selected for the datasource

An enhancement was made in v10 - an asterisk * star sign is added behind those tests to indicate they require CAS setup in the database host.

In v9, you see this:

In v10, you see the enhancement i.e. the asterisk * star sign:
