How to import IBM Rational DOORS attributes into IBM Rational Rhapsody tags

You will need to add a new attribute to your DOORS gateway type that matches the name of the DOORS attribute. Gateway will then capture this attribute and add it to the Rhapsody model as a tag element.

1. Open the Gateway configuration window, select the Types section and add/locate your type in the list.
   
   
   
   
2. Add a new XML type under the attribute section using the bottom toolbar. Select the new XML Type and rename it. This will be the name of the tag added to your project.
   
   
   
3. Select the "<TagRef/>" tag in XML view and rename it to "Attribute"
   
   
   
   
4. Select the "<Attribute/>" tag and add two new XML elements using the bottom toolbar.
   
   
   
5. Select each of the two new elements and change the radio button to Attribute. Rename them "name" and "value".
   
   
   
   
6. Set the Condition value of of the "name" Attribute to match your DOORS attribute.
   In this example we are extracting the DOORS system attribute "Absolute Number".
   
   
8. Change the "value" Attribute to Value .
   
   
10. Check that you have selected your Gateway Type in the project configuration.
    
    
12. Hit Apply and wait for Gateway to update the Coverage Analysis View. You should find your DOORS attribute is now a tag under each requirement.
    
    
14. The final step is to export this into your Rhapsody model by selecting the Rhapsody model and Tools menu > Add High Level Requirements.
