How to set correct access to a database to allow for a Guardium Vulnerability Assessment to run ?

Question & Answer

Question

How can I define database users and roles with sufficient credentials on my database to allow for a Guardium Vulnerability Assessment to run ?

Cause

Guardium Vulnerability Assessments require access to the databases it evaluates. To do this, Guardium provides a set of SQL scripts (one script for each database type) that creates users and roles in the database to be used by Guardium.

Answer

The template scripts are available on the Guardium Appliance once it is built.

  • from cli run the correct fileserver command and click on    View or download SqlGuard logs
  • Navigate to   /log/debug-logs/gdmmonitor_scripts/
  • You can then click and download the relevant script(s) for use against your database(s)
  • Please be sure to familiarise yourself with README.txt before using the script(s)
